Premiile British Fantasy sunt acordate anual de către British Fantasy Society (BFS), începând din 1976. Înainte de 1976, premiile erau cunoscute sub numele de August Derleth Fantasy Awards (înființate în 1972). Primul premiu (The Knight of Swords de Michael Moorcock) a fost acordat doar pentru romane, apoi numărul categoriilor de premii a crescut, iar în 1976 BFS le-a redenumit colectiv British Fantasy Awards. Membrii BFS votează pentru a stabili listele scurte ale premiilor, câștigătorii fiind hotărâți de jurați.
